The reviews for Google’s Pixel phones are in, and people are raving about it.
CNET’s own Lynn La called it “pure Android at its best,” and praised the camera.
The timing of the phone’s launch couldn’t be better, as it fills the vacuum at the high-end Android segment created by Samsung’s recall of the Note 7.
We also talk about Qualcomm introducing the world’s first 5G chip for a phone, which will supposedly hit the market in the first half of 2018. (Good luck getting one.)
Lastly, we chat about the boom in the use of vanity domains like .google and .nike. Unfortunately, the high cost of these domains means small businesses and individuals are out of luck. (There goes Roger’s dreams of owning the .cheng domain.)
The 3:59 gives you bite-size news and analysis about the top stories of the day, brought to you by the CNET News team in New York and producer Bryan VanGelder.
