At PAX South on Saturday XCOM 2 developer Firaxis Game closed out its panel by showing the audience the introduction sequence for its upcoming sequel. The video, which you can watch below (skip to 03:18:17), marks the first time intro has been publicly shown.

The footage features news clips of humans celebrating the 20th Anniversary of Unification day. Soldiers from Advent, the group which has aligned itself with the aliens and is serving as their enforcers on Earth, can be seen marching around and policing humans.

After showing off all the ways humanity’s new overlords have improved life, the news clips eventually discuss a group of dissidents who “repeat the mistakes of the old world.” From there, it get’s pretty cool, so we won’t spoil it.

XCOM 2 is set for release on February 5, 2016 and a DLC pack is due out sometime this spring. This is scheduled to be followed by two more content updates by the end of the summer. XCOM 2 will be coming exclusively to PC and although versions are not being ruled out, nothing has been announced as of this time.

Firaxis is working with the group of modders behind the impressive Long War campaign for XCOM: Enemy Unknown to prepare XCOM 2 mod content for the game’s launch. The three-person team of John Lumpkin, Rachel “Amineri” Norman, and James “JCLewis” Karlson are working on “multiple mods,” but details on what they are haven’t been specified.
