NCSoft’s PC MMO Blade & Soul is off to a fast start. The company has announced that just a week after the game launched in North America and Europe on January 19, it’s now reached 1 million players in the west. The game was released in Korea and China back in 2012.

In a statement, NCSoft West CEO Songyee Yoon pledged that the developer will “work tirelessly” to ensure that Blade & Soul stays fresh in the time to come.

“At NCSoft, we are committed to providing our players an extraordinary experience across all of our games,” Yoon said. “It is thrilling that so many people are excited about the arrival of Blade & Soul in the west, and we will continue to work tirelessly to make sure our amazing players have a great time in this epic game.”

Blade & Soul, like many other MMOs, is a free-to-play game that’s supported by microtransactions.

“In the coming months, players can expect a regular cadence of content updates and patches to further enhance gameplay and the overall Blade & Soul experience,” NCSoft explained.
