Electronic Arts has revealed the next wave of free content for its multiplayer shooter Star Wars Battlefront, which includes new multiplayer modes for the Tatooine map, as well as Hoth-themed outfits for Luke Skywalker and Han Solo, and more.

Meanwhile, the publisher has revealed first details on Battlefront’s four premium expansions that are scheduled to roll out between now and early 2017, one of which will be based on the Death Star. More on that can be found here.

According to publisher EA, the free content will deploy on Wednesday and will also make various gameplay and balance tweaks. Below is a list of all the free content set to be added in the January update.

  • New multiplayer modes for the Tatooine map, which has previously only been accessible in the co-op Survival mode. Now known as Raider Camp, the map will be compatible with modes such as Blast, Droid Run, Drop Zone, Hero Hunt, and Heroes vs Villains.
  • Hoth-themed costumes from The Empire Strikes Back. Luke Skywalker and Han Solo will wear the outfits whenever on the frozen plains of Hoth–Luke even wields his original blue lightsaber.
  • A space for daily challenges and community events, giving players the chance to earn credits and unlocks faster.
  • The option to create Private Matches.

Since its release in November, Star Wars Battlefront has received two free maps and a new mode, known as The Battle of Jakku.

It was previously speculated that the January update for Star Wars Battlefront would include a brand new Tatooine map, but EA suggested this speculation was based on erroneous information.

Senior producer Sigurlina Ingvarsdottir has since revealed that a new Tatooine Survival map will be deployed in March, for free, along with an “exciting new multiplayer map on Endor that will support Walker Assault, Supremacy, and Turning Point.”

EA has also outlined its free February update plans, which includes a new Survival mission on Hoth, along with “a brand-new Hoth multiplayer map that will support our larger game modes including Walker Assault, Supremacy, Fighter Squadron and Turning Point.”

The publisher added that, by February, all multiplayer maps that support Walker Assault and Supremacy will also support Turning Point.

“We will continue to listen to our community throughout the year and provide updates designed to make Star Wars Battlefront even more fun for everyone,” Ingvarsdottir added.
