Siri has a new home.
Apple’s digital assistant will have a permanent place in special voice-activated rooms at select Aloft Hotel locations. Each room has an iPad running a custom Aloft app, which allows a guest to control lighting and room temperature and to explore local attractions through speech.
Think of it the next level of hotel service, with Siri acting as your concierge. Aloft, owned by Starwood Hotels, launched the service at its Boston Seaport and Santa Clara, California, locations. The initiative is part of the company’s Project: Jetson initiative, designed to innovate the hotel experience.
The iPad will let guests browse the internet. Once the stay ends, the iPads are reset for the next guest.
